The Pacific Islander Student Alliance seeks to empower Pacific Islander students by connecting every Pacific Islander student group in the Pacific Northwest. PISA's goal is to encourage Pacific Islander students to become more socially aware and active towards the issues that affect Pacific Islander communities. New and current members of PISA are welcome to join the forum, which is designed to build power and promote social justice issues among attendees.
Keynote speakers include Dr. Lani Teves, Assistant Professor of Ethnic Studies at the University of Oregon, and Makerusa Porotesano, PISA co-founder and organizer. The event is hosted by the Asian Pacific American Network of Oregon and PSU's Diversity and Multicultural Student Services. RSVPs are required.
