Stand Up for Immigrant Rights

 

Today's Presidential Executive Orders regarding harsher immigration enforcement and building a wall along the Mexican border has spurred a flurry of organizing activity among groups that advocate for immigrant rights.

Here's part of a statement released by Voto Latino:

A country founded on inclusion has now turned its back on some of its most vulnerable communities. These executive orders would further militarize and terrorize our border, expand a deportation force, and breakdown trust policies among immigrant communities.  

These orders will create chaos in American communities and undermine public safety.

• Text SOLIDARITY to 73179 to call your member of congress and tell them to speak out against these executive orders. 
• Sign this petition to demand Speaker Ryan stand up for immigrant families.
• Attend a vigil in your area or plan one of your own.
